U Need A Tire is a family-owned new & used tire shop on Akron's east side, run by owner Mike Caldwell — who's been in tire shops since he was six years old. We're looking to add a Tire Technician to the crew: someone reliable who wants to learn the trade or bring experience they already have.
No corporate scripts, no call center. Just hands-on work, honest people, and a shop that treats customers — and employees — like family.
What You'll Do
- Mount, balance & rotate tires — cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, tractors & trailers
- Diagnose and repair flats
- Inspect used tires for tread depth, sidewall condition & safe wear
- Handle free air checks and everyday customer service with a smile
- Keep the bays, tools & shop floor clean and organized
What We're Looking For
- Valid driver's license
- Able to lift 50+ lbs and stay on your feet most of the day
- Reliable, on time, and works well with a small team
- Tire or automotive experience is a plus — not required, we'll train the right person
- Willing to work some Saturdays/Sundays as part of our 7-day rotating schedule
