Where is U Need A Tire located?
We're at 625 Massillon Rd, Akron, OH 44306 — on Akron's east side near Ellet, just minutes from Akron Fulton Airport. Look for the black building with the big yellow & red U Need A Tire sign. Get directions →
What are your hours?
We're open seven days a week: Monday–Friday 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, and Sunday 10:00 AM–2:00 PM. Yes — open Sundays, when most tire shops are dark.
Do you sell both new and used tires?
Yes — that's our specialty. New tires from Goodyear, Kelly, Milestar and more, plus hand-inspected quality used tires for every budget. Everything mounted and balanced while you wait.
Are your used tires safe?
Every used tire we sell is inspected first: tread depth measured, sidewalls checked for cracks and dry rot, and the tire checked for punctures and old repairs. After 30+ years in the business, we know good rubber from bad — and we only sell tires we'd put on our own family's cars.
Do you install motorcycle tires?
Yes! We install motorcycle tires, plus tractor and trailer tires — the large and small sizes many other shops won't touch. It's on our sign for a reason.
Do I need an appointment?
Nope. Walk-ins are welcome every day, and most jobs are done while you wait. If you need a specific or unusual size, call (330) 812-9099 first and we'll have it ready.
How much do tires cost?
It depends on your size and whether you go new or used — used typically runs a fraction of the new price. Find the size on your tire's sidewall (like 225/65R17), call us, and you'll have an honest quote in about a minute.
Do you really give free air?
Really and truly — free air, no purchase needed. And if you pull in and don't see us, beep your horn. It's on the sign.
Can you fix my flat tire?
Usually, yes — if the puncture is in a repairable spot, we'll fix it while you wait. If it's not safe to repair, we'll tell you straight and can usually match a replacement from the rack the same visit. See all services →

What areas do you serve?

Can I buy just one tire?
Of course. Singles, pairs, or sets — new or used. We'll match your existing size and brand where we can so your set wears evenly. We sell what you need, nothing more.
